  • About The Role

  • Early Education and Childcare Sector Coordinator (Maternity Cover)

Are you passionate about early education and childcare and committed to improving outcomes for children and families?

Do you enjoy bringing people together, coordinating projects and events, and supporting a thriving and diverse early education and childcare sector? If so, we would love to hear from you.

Our ambitious and supportive Early Education and Childcare Service is looking for an exceptional individual to join our team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract as an Early Education and Childcare Sector Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to children, families and providers across Tower Hamlets. Working at the heart of our service, you will lead on workforce development, communications and sector engagement, helping to strengthen partnerships and ensure providers have access to the information, training and opportunities they need to deliver high-quality early education and childcare.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines relationship building, communications, project coordination and service improvement. You will act as a key point of contact for early education and childcare providers, partners and stakeholders, ensuring they receive timely information, advice and support while helping to strengthen partnerships across the borough.

You will play a leading role in coordinating our highly regarded Early Education and Childcare Workforce Development Programme, working closely with colleagues across the service and a network of specialist external trainers and partners. You will commission training based on sector needs, liaise with trainers to develop content, gather and coordinate information to produce a comprehensive termly programme, and ensure learning opportunities are promoted effectively across the borough. From planning and scheduling to managing bookings, attendance, communications and evaluation, you will oversee the programme from end to end, helping to ensure practitioners have access to high-quality professional development that supports continuous improvement and better outcomes for children.

You will also lead on sector communications, coordinating information, website content, social media updates and guidance materials to ensure providers have access to clear, accurate and up-to-date information. You will play an important role in raising the profile of the service and strengthening engagement with the sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, managing a varied workload and finding creative solutions that improve services for children, families and providers.

    What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is passionate about early education and childcare and understands the importance of providing high-quality support to the sector.

    You will be someone who:

    · Is confident communicating with a wide range of audiences including providers, parents, colleagues and stakeholders.

    · Has experience developing and maintaining effective partnerships and collaborative working relationships.

    · Is skilled in using a range of communication tools and channels, including newsletters, websites, social media and online platforms.

    · Has strong IT skills and experience using Microsoft 365 and Canva (preferable).

    · Works well on their own initiative and takes ownership of delivering high-quality outcomes.

    · Able to manage a budget and plan cost effective training opportunities.

    · Is passionate about improving outcomes for children and supporting the continued development of the early education and childcare workforce.

You will be approachable, organised, solutions focused and committed to delivering an excellent service to providers, families and partners across Tower Hamlets.

    Why join us?

By joining Tower Hamlets, you will become part of a service that is dedicated to improving outcomes for our youngest residents and supporting a strong, diverse and sustainable Early Education and Childcare sector.

You will work alongside passionate colleagues in a collaborative and nurturing environment where innovation, wellbeing and continuous improvement are encouraged.
