About the Role
As an Assistant Facilities Manager, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of our Town Hall. Working closely with the Facilities Manager, you will help oversee day‑to‑day building operations, support strategic improvements, and ensure that our historic site remains a welcoming and well‑maintained environment for staff, visitors, and the wider community.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Operational oversight – supporting the management of daily facilities activities, coordinating tasks across teams, and ensuring the building runs efficiently and professionally.
- Team coordination and supervision – providing guidance to front‑of‑house, cleaning, security, and maintenance teams, helping to prioritise workloads and maintain high service standards.
- Contractor and supplier management – liaising with external contractors, issuing access packs and keys, monitoring performance, and ensuring work is completed to specification, safely and on time.
- Building compliance and health & safety – supporting statutory compliance, leading routine inspections, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring safe working practices across the site.
- Maintenance and repair management – overseeing planned and reactive maintenance, identifying issues, raising work orders, and ensuring timely resolution.
- Event and room management – coordinating space usage, supporting high‑profile meetings and events, and ensuring rooms are set up to required standards.
- Security and access control oversight – managing building access systems, ensuring security procedures are followed, and supporting CCTV monitoring where required.
- Continuous improvement – identifying opportunities to enhance building operations, improve user experience, and support long‑term site development.

About You
We are looking for someone who is/has:
- Friendly, professional, and customer‑focused
- An effective communicator with good interpersonal skills
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage time well
- Confident using ICT systems (training will be provided)
- Able to lead a team and take initiative
- Experience in in a Management capacity
- Experience in a Facilities Mangement role
