We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to support the delivery of our Best Start in Life programme, a borough‑wide, partnership‑led transformation focused on improving outcomes for babies, young children and families.
Working within Children’s Services and alongside health, education and voluntary sector partners, the postholder will play a key role in translating the Best Start in Life Strategy into co‑ordinated, high‑quality delivery on the ground.
About the role
You will lead and support projects across the Best Start in Life programme, including Family Hubs, parenting support, early learning, health and SEND pathways, ensuring delivery is outcome‑focused, evidence‑informed and aligned with national expectations.

- Co‑ordinate activity across council services, health partners, education settings and the voluntary and community sector
- Track delivery against agreed milestones, risks, dependencies and benefits, escalating issues where appropriate
- Support co‑production with parents and carers, ensuring family voice informs design and delivery
- Contribute to performance reporting, learning and continuous improvement across the programme
- Support transition from transformation activity into sustainable business‑as‑usual delivery
About you
You will bring:
- Proven experience managing projects in a large, complex organisation, ideally within children’s services, health, education or early help
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience of working across organisational boundaries
- A clear understanding of project delivery, change management and benefits realisation
- The ability to work in a politically sensitive environment, exercising sound judgement and discretion
- A commitment to tackling inequalities and improving outcomes for children and families
