    About the role

Welcome to our friendly and innovative Educational Psychology Service. We are excited to invite creative, reflective and enthusiastic psychologists to join us in the heart of London’s vibrant East End.

The Educational Psychology Service is a large and well‑regarded service, comprising both qualified and trainee educational psychologists. Whether you are approaching the end of your training or seeking new challenges in your career, we would be delighted to hear from you. We are happy to accept applications from those completing training in August 2027.

No two days are the same. We work across a wide range of settings, including post‑16 provision and alternative settings, delivering statutory assessments alongside traded and project work. Schools value our contribution and regularly commission additional time, which is delivered through a link educational psychologist model. Our service offer continues to evolve through consultation with schools, families and partners.

Our current work includes emotional literacy and mediated learning programmes, parent and carer support through early years hubs, evaluation and research activity, group supervision with partner services, virtual school support, elective home education involvement, and crisis support.

We also have several special interest groups within the service, allowing educational psychologists to share learning and develop practice in areas such as narrative approaches, consultation and evaluation.

    Why work with us

We offer a supportive and flexible working environment, including regular individual and peer supervision, protected time for CPD and whole‑team training, and opportunities for hybrid and remote working.

You will benefit from travel allowance for car use or public transport, excellent transport links, flexible working arrangements, a dedicated business support team, and access to a laptop with full technical support. Eligible staff can apply for Soulbury Structured Pay Award points, and continuous service is recognised through additional annual leave.

    Requirements

You must be a registered educational psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council, or be eligible for registration upon completion of training.

This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, in line with safer recruitment requirements for working with children and vulnerable groups.

    Additional information

    Closing date: Sunday 19 April 2026 (11.59pm)
    Shortlisting: Monday 20 April 2026
Interviews: Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 April 2026

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Daniel Tunbridge, Principal Educational Psychologist or Charlotte Hatton, Senior Educational Psychologist.

    How to Apply

We welcome applications via CV and brief covering letter. A full overview of duties and requirements is found within the attached Job Description and Personal Specification. We will use the Personal Specification to structure the interview questions.

Each role has a detailed job description and person specification. The person specification sets out the criteria we use to assess applicants.

Please ensure that you confirm you are a qualified or pending qualification educational psychologist as this is essential for you to be considered for the role.
