This is an incredibly exciting time to join Tower Hamlets Youth Service. A key priority within the Tower Hamlets Council Strategic Plan is to transform and improve services for young people in the borough. In addition, Tower Hamlets has been chosen as one of eight early adopters for the governments new Young Futures Hub programme.
We are looking for passionate, committed and youth‑centred Youth Support Workers to join Young Tower Hamlets and play a key role in delivering high‑quality sessions within the Young Futures Hub (YFH). This is an opportunity to support young people aged 10–19 (and up to 25 for those with SEND), helping them to feel safe, empowered and connected, while contributing to the borough’s strategy to reduce violence, vulnerability and exploitation.
As part of the Young Futures Hub model, you will help create inclusive, accessible and welcoming spaces where young people can take part in positive activities, build relationships, develop new skills and access support from qualified youth work practitioners.
As a Youth Support Worker, you will build strong, voluntary relationships with young people who attend the Young Futures Hub. You will engage them in one‑to‑one conversations, group activities and educational experiences that support their personal, social, emotional and developmental growth.
You will contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of the YFH programme. A key part of your role will be supporting young people to co‑produce the offer—ensuring their voices, experiences and ideas shape what the Hub delivers.
You will help young people understand and manage risks, promote positive choices, and signpost them to additional services when required. You will support with behaviour management using restorative approaches, and ensure that all safeguarding, health and safety and council procedures are always followed.
