  • Casual Telecare Officer -  As and when required (Monday to Friday, daytime, to meet service needs) Hourly Rate: £25.37

We are seeking a motivated, flexible, and customer‑focused individual to join our progressive and dynamic Telecare Team on a casual basis. This role is offered on an as-and-when-required basis, Monday to Friday during the day, to support the operational needs of the service.

You will work across the borough, delivering vital Telecare services and providing support, advice, and reassurance to some of our most vulnerable residents, helping them to live safely and independently within their own homes.

     About the Role

Telecare provides technology-enabled care solutions designed to support residents to remain independent, active, and safe in their communities. Alongside Telecare alarms, a range of sensors and devices are used, all of which are monitored by our call monitoring centre.

    • Respond to emergency alarm activations, prioritising calls and taking appropriate action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable and elderly residents.
    • Provide direct support, guidance, and reassurance to customers, promoting independent living.
    • Take responsibility and accountability for decisions and actions taken in response to emergency situations.
    • Work collaboratively with next of kin, health and social care professionals, emergency services, and other council departments.
    • Work flexibly in line with service requirements.

    What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:

    • A flexible, responsive, and customer‑focused approach to work.
    • A genuine passion for supporting older people and other vulnerable groups.
    • Strong organisational skills, with clear verbal and written communication.
    • An understanding of the needs and challenges faced by vulnerable residents.
    • Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders, including families, health and social care professionals, and emergency services.
    • An interest in technology and a commitment to developing your skills as telecare systems evolve.
    • A full UK driving licence and First Aid certification.

Please note: An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
